Eligibility & Credit Checks
Who can use PayPal Pay Later?
To use PayPal's Pay Later options, you must:
- Be a resident of a supported country (such as the UK, US, Australia, France, Germany, Spain, or Italy).
- Hold a standard consumer PayPal account in good standing.
- Be at least 18 years of age (or the legal age of majority in your region).
- Be checking out in the local currency of your registered PayPal account.
Will it affect my credit score?
Applying for a plan triggers a soft credit check by PayPal. This search is completely invisible to other companies and has zero impact on your credit score. However, if you miss your monthly repayments, PayPal will report this to credit reference agencies in your country, which will negatively affect your credit score and future borrowing options.
Payments & Fees
Are there any fees or interest charges?
No. PayPal Pay in 3 and Pay in 4 plans feature 0% interest and have no setup or late payment fees globally.
How are payments collected?
Your first payment is taken immediately when you place your order. The subsequent payments are debited automatically from the funding source (debit card, credit card, or bank account) linked to your PayPal account. You can also log into the PayPal App to pay off your balance early at any time.
Returns & Refunds
How do returns work with PayPal Pay Later?
Your standard right to return items is completely unchanged. You will only ever be responsible for paying for the items you choose to keep.If you return your items and your payment deadline is approaching, we recommend checking your PayPal portal. Unlike other providers, PayPal does not have a manual "pause" button. If your payment date arrives before our warehouse processes your return, the payment may still be drawn. Rest assured, any overpayments will be fully refunded to your card once the return is finalized.
When will my refund arrive?
As soon as our warehouse team receives and processes your return, we will automatically notify PayPal. PayPal will adjust your plan balance or issue a refund for any installments you have already paid. Refunds are sent directly back to your original payment method and generally take 5 to 7 working days to clear.
Safety & Protection
Is paying with PayPal secure?
Yes. Transactions are protected by the exact same bank-level data encryption and advanced fraud prevention protocols as a standard PayPal transaction. Additionally, eligible purchases remain fully covered by PayPal Buyer Protection. If your package is lost in transit, fails to arrive, or significantly differs from what you ordered, you can open a dispute through PayPal to safeguard your money.
